Grout Cleaning Tips
When cleaning your bathroom, what’s the most difficult thing to do? You can make anything shiny and looking like new, except for one thing – tile grout. Tile and grout cleaning is pretty hard. It requires quite a lot of hard work, so unless you get down on your knees and rub that old toothbrush ALL OVER YOUR BATHROOM it will stay dirty and hideous. After all, there’s no magical tile cleaner on the market.
But, it doesn’t have to be that way. There is a way to clean it nicely without spending half the day on your knees. Below you can see a list of simple tile cleaning options that will make your bathroom look as good as new.
Baking soda is a great grout cleaner. It will make it glow like new while also reducing the risk of water damage. Make a paste of baking soda and water and scrub your whole bathroom with it. If the results aren’t satisfying, it’s time to bring out the big guns.
Vinegar is acidic in nature, so it should work better than baking soda for hard stains. It will also keep away mineral deposits and water stains to a minimum. As an added bonus, this superb tile and grout cleaning option will prevent the accumulation of bacteria and mold.
Salt and Lemon Juice
Another powerful mix to clean your bathroom and tiles, salt and lemon juice have been used for cleaning purposes for a long time. The mix can clean almost anything, and you can include your bathroom tiles to the list. Simply mix the ingredients nicely, damp a cloth or sponge in it and rub away. It works best for tile and grout cleaning if you add in a little bit of baking soda. The results will be magical!
Hydrogen Peroxide and Borax
Although not as “clean” and healthy as the others, the mix of hydrogen peroxide and Borax will clean your grout the fastest. The mixture will disinfect your tiles, while also keeping the grout as clean and white as possible. Apart from all those natural options, this is probably the best grout cleaner you can get for cheap.
Another great option is steam cleaning. Although not a tile grout cleaner per se, steam cleaning your bathroom will get rid of most the stains and impurities from your tiles. The high temperature works great, although you should stay away from enamel surfaces and silicone joints.
Bathroom Cleaning Tips
Instead of facing the problem later on, why not cut it at its roots? Every time you clean your bathroom, wet a sponge in a mix of baking soda and water and wipe away the tiles and grout. Rinse with water after a few minutes and they’ll be white and clean forever.
Of course, a high level of bathroom hygiene is required to keep everything in shape. If you want your grout to stay clean for a long time and prevent hard stains on it, you need to clean your bathroom regularly. Otherwise, you’ll be facing dirty grout which can really ruin the look of your brand-new bathroom.
